Brief: To Work with the M & E consultant Chapman Bathurst and provide comfort cooling to luxury apartments in Chelsea enhancing resale value to the end user. Equipment had to be uncased fan coils hidden behind quality surrounds.

Solution: The ideal Solution was Mitsubishi Electric Europe - 2 pipe VRF – Inverter Driven R410A systems complete with ducted & floor mounted indoor units controlled by an external Lon-works interface control system which was integrated with controlling all AV equipment in each apartment.

Implementation: The installing contractor Kelvinair, Northacre & PACAIR worked closely to achieve optimum cooling linked with the under floor heating & the controls throughout. The Condensing Units were installed in covered locations within car park incorporating ducted ventilation.

Timescale: Project was installed within time scale & budget to client satisfaction.

Background: This Grade II listed building, designed in the Renaissance manner by Charles Holden was the Queen Elizabeth College for Women. It was built in three phases starting in 1915.

Renamed The Phillimores with the completion of the development in 2004, it now consists of 66 apartments, underground leisure facilities, underground car parking and large hotel style reception.

The north wing has been completely rebuilt behind the existing facades and an additional storey has been added providing stunning split level contemporary apartments.

The apartment sizes vary from 2000 sq ft to 5000 sq ft and all the architectural mouldings and other decorative details were carefully preserved and replicated to create this award winning building.
